There is an awkward gap between receiving a locked document and being able to do anything with it. An empty password, an owner password left over from a colleague, or permissions that block copying on a file you are entitled to edit can all leave a PDF effectively frozen. This tool removes that restriction so the document behaves like a normal file again.

It is most useful for the permission-lock case, where the file opens fine but editing and printing are greyed out. A PDF you have the right to work with, such as a shared report you contributed to or a file from an old system at work, can be saved as a clean unrestricted copy in a couple of clicks, with the pages and formatting left exactly as they were.

Important caveat: you should only unlock files you own or are authorised to modify. Documents protected by a genuine open password belonging to someone else cannot be opened here, and attempting to get around that is not something this tool does. The file size limit is 50 MB, and uploads are discarded as soon as processing ends.
